Jeff and Henrietta Hudson held deep convictions regarding their faith and their belief that education was the key to advancement. The woodblock print What Faith and Courage Might Look Like speaks to the Jim Crow based opposition to their landowning status and educational activism most evident in the arson and destruction of their home place in or around 1894. This print is inspired by a photograph found in the home place along with Jeff Hudson’s handwritten reward posting offering for the persons who burnt down their home.
