Contemporary Book Clubs are important ways in which the African American community extends the spirit of the literary Renaissance which took place in Harlem in the early 20th century. They bring sustained awareness to the expanded universe of African American writers who tell our stories, enrich our lives, and imagine our futures. They are spaces to celebrate and unpack meaning and relevance.
